Resilience, the ability to 'bounce back' is often thought of as a hard won gift- something we don't know whether we have or not until we have been through heart ache, heartbreak, illness, bereavement, or suffering. Yet, the gift of resilience is not something that you just 'have' or 'don't have'. It is composed of skills and thoughts and behaviours that can help us cope and rise again. Most importantly, it is a gift that can be learned. This session explores both the theory and practice of some of the most important resilience traits and characteristics, drawing on the latest research and the lived experience of someone who has 'been there'.
